Where can I listen to KAP podcasts?

We publish our shows to every podcast app except Spotify and YouTube. For more info on that, you can scroll down to the entries entitled, “Why can’t I listen to KAP podcasts on Spotify?” and “Why can’t I listen to KAP podcasts on YouTube?”

Below are ways to find our podcasts in your favorite app.

  • You can search for the title of the podcast in that app (I suggest copying and pasting the podcast’s title from our website to avoid typos).
  • You can go to the page for the podcast on this website. There you will see buttons for a few different apps. If your app is not included, click the plus button for more options.
  • If you still cannot find the podcast, check if the app has an option to add a custom podcast directly (try looking up “add podcast RSS feed on [your chosen app]”). Then go to the podcast’s page on this website, click the RSS Feed button (the orange one) to copy the feed to your clipboard, and follow the directions for your app. Doing this allows you to listen to the podcast even though it is not listed in the app (it will still automatically update). As a note, not all apps have this option.
  • If the platform does not have the RSS Feed option or rejects the link, you can contact me, as I may be able to submit it to your app. If I do not have the ability to do so, I am very sorry, and you can listen on our website or a different app (I highly recommend Pocket Casts).

Why can’t I listen to KAP podcasts on Spotify?

What Spotify is doing in podcasting—tracking users, trying to gain a monopoly on the industry, and going against “open” podcasting—does not align with Kingdom: Animalia Podcasts’ views. If it is the main app you use for listening to podcasts, I apologize for the inconvenience, and you can listen on our website or a different app (I highly recommend Pocket Casts). Our podcasts are currently on all of the other major podcast apps, such as Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, and Overcast (excluding YouTube). If you would like links to such platforms, you can head over to the page on this website for the podcast you would like to listen to.

How do I submit an animal, Animalia Fake! category, or riddle guess to Kingdom: Animalia?

You can send an email to animals@kapods.org or go to the contact page and use the form entitled “Kingdom: Animalia - A Zoology Podcast for Kids.”

How do I get early access to episodes of Where Are the Chickadee Brothers?

To get one-week-early access to all episodes of Where Are the Chickadee Brothers?, you can sign up for Kingdom: Animalia Podcasts Plus at the Subspecies tier ($4/month) or higher at plus.kapods.org. It really helps us (me) out.

If that is not an option for you at this time, you can still get all episodes completely free.

How can I share KAP podcasts with people (and birds) I know?

Thank you for wanting to share our podcasts! It helps us more than you might think.

We suggest sending them the link to the podcast’s main page, which has links to most places to listen, or the Podcasts page, which has links to all of our podcasts. This way you don’t have to worry about which app they use.

How to find one of our shows on our website:

  1. Go to the Podcasts page of our website.
  2. Click on the podcast you would like to share.
  3. Share the link to the page it brings you to.

If you would like to share all of our podcasts, you can simply share the Podcasts or Home page.
