It’s time for everyone’s favorite game show…
In every episode of Animalia Fake!—with your host, Devon, and announcers, Chet and Cap—there are THREE rounds, each with FOUR outrageous animal facts; ONE of those facts is so outrageous it’s an Animalia Fake (it’s not true), and you have to guess which it is.
You can keep score at home on a paper, an online note, etc., or use the official scoresheet linked below.
This is a Kingdom: Animalia - A Zoology Podcast for Kids miniseries.
Become a Contestant!
Instructions
To be a contestant, you must be between 7 and 18 years old and have consent from your parent/guardian.
Kids:
- Make sure you have a phone or tablet with the Riverside app (Apple App Store, Google Play Store)—which does not require you to create an account—or simply a computer with a browser app to join the session with.
- Make sure to download or print the Official Animalia Fake! Scoresheet ahead of time.
- Prepare to mention the following on the show:
- your top 1–5 favorite animals,
- how long you’ve been listening to Kingdom: Animalia,
- and how you discovered the show.
- You should have either a stand-alone microphone (a dynamic mic is preferred) and headphones or just a pair of headphones with a built-in microphone. A standalone mic is the best option, and wired headphones with a built-in mic are the second best. If you don’t have either, ask your parent/guardian(s) if they can buy you a pair of cheap, wired earbuds with a built-in mic (like Apple EarPods).* They sound surprisingly good and have a better, more reliable connection than Bluetooth headphones. Make sure the intended mic and headphones are set to your device’s input and output before recording.
- Make sure you will not have any notifications or alarms go off during the recording.
- Note: Your voice and what you say will be published to the podcast for anyone to listen. You will be sent a draft of the episode before it is released.
Parents/Guardians:
- Make sure your child has access to a phone or tablet with the Riverside app (Apple App Store, Google Play Store)—which is free and does not require you to create an account—or simply a computer with a browser app to join the session with.
- They should have either a stand-alone microphone (a dynamic mic is preferred) and headphones or just a pair of headphones with a built-in microphone. A standalone mic is the best option, and wired headphones with a built-in mic are the second best. If you don’t have either, buying cheap, wired earbuds with a built-in mic (like Apple EarPods) would be appreciated, if possible.† They sound surprisingly good and have a better, more reliable connection than Bluetooth headphones.
- They will need a quiet place to record with as little echo as possible, good internet connection, and no interruptions. This could be their bedroom, a closet, or a pantry.
- Make sure your child will not have any notifications or alarms go off during the recording.
- Make sure your child reads the section above labeled “Kids.”
- Note: Your child’s voice and what they say will be published to the podcast for anyone to listen. You will be sent a draft of the episode before it is released.
